Never skied? Gulmarg is a good place to start. You get three full lesson days, from 10 am to 4 pm, with at most three skiers per instructor, on the beginner slopes and then from the gondola's first stage at Kongdoori. Skis, boots, poles and ski clothing are included, so you only bring warm layers.

Nobody can guarantee snow. No snow or a closed gondola at the start means new dates the same season or a full credit. Lost lesson days are made up where possible or the lesson fee is refunded.

Hotels are the ones named in your quote, or similar in the same category. Every room is heated (a heater or an electric blanket in budget hotels).
The Gulmarg gondola is closed on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month, and Phase 2 often stops in strong wind. Tickets are sold online, up to 120 days ahead.

Before you book
What to bring
Thermal base layers, warm socks, a fleece, a warm cap, sunglasses or goggles, and sunscreen. Ski jacket, trousers and gloves are provided.
Ski insurance that covers skiing in India. We can't start lessons without it.
Good to know
In Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg some places can only be reached by local union taxis, ponies or snow 4x4s. We arrange them if you'd like and they go in your quote.
Prepaid SIM cards from outside Jammu & Kashmir don't work here. Postpaid connections do.
Carry a government photo ID. Hotels ask for it, and it can be checked on the road.
Booking and cancellation

Nobody can guarantee snow. If there isn't enough, or the gondola is shut when your course should start, choose new dates the same season or a full credit.
Lesson days lost during the course are made up where possible. If they can't be, we refund the lesson fee for those days (not hotels or transport).
